This is a Vintage Port from the 2016 harvest, a declared Vintage or a Classic Vintage, which historically occurs on average only 3 times per decade. Bottled in July 2018, after nearly 2 years in wooden casks, the Vintage completes its aging process in bottles stored horizontally, for a long life of many decades. Throughout the aging period, the wine softens, gaining structure and complexity.
