Grape varieties: Created by Nature, CV Curriculum Vitae comes from a single old vineyard, 100 years old, planted with 35 different grape varieties. With a north-facing exposure, varieties found here include Rufete, Tinta Amarela, Donzelinho Red, Tinta Francisca, Sousão, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, among others. Winemaking: CV - Curriculum Vitae Douro Red comes from a single vineyard in the Torto River Valley. All the grapes are hand-harvested and selected before being destemmed and placed in lagares. All the grapes are foot-trodden 2-3 days before fermentation begins. The wine ferments in lagares, with occasional foot-treading to extract tannins, colour and flavour in a balanced way. The wines are transferred to 75% new French oak barrels (225 litres) for malolactic fermentation and ageing. This wine aged for 26 months in barrels. The final blend was made in January, and the wine then aged for a further 2 months in stainless steel until bottling.
