Tout comme la figure qui l'inspire, Aeternus est un vin rare par son histoire. Il naît dans le meilleur vignoble planté sur les terrasses de la Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, un vignoble centenaire de 2,5 hectares, produisant 0,4 kg par plante, avec une exposition solaire au sud-ouest et une densité de plantation d'environ 6000 plantes par hectare. Aeternus est un hommage à une œuvre éternelle, à un homme qui aimait la terre, la famille, le travail. Américo Amorim était un homme avec une intuition rare et unique pour les affaires, qui a commencé sa carrière professionnelle à 18 ans dans l'entreprise familiale de liège et n'a jamais cessé de lutter pour ses idéaux, élevant le secteur du liège à la tête mondiale, créant au cours de six décennies un groupe d'entreprises avec un statut grandiose au Portugal et dans le monde.
