Its name is inspired by the Carthusian Monks who, since 1598, have practiced a solitary life of prayer at the Cartuxa Monastery, in Évora, owned by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. As a way of reviving one of the traditional ways of producing wines at Adega Cartuxa, located in Quinta de Valbom, where quality wines have been produced for more than two centuries, the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida presents this red wine made in old clay pots.
Soft, with striking and balanced acidity, aromas of fruit jam and spices
Notes of black berries in jam, mint, spices and chocolate
