Description
Driven by the dream of producing great Douro wines with the same production philosophy as its best Port Wines, Casa Ferreirinha produced in 1952 the first harvest of a wine that would become a national and international reference - Barca Velha .
A mysterious wine full of emotions, the 2004 harvest reveals floral aromas (lavender and violet), very ripe fruit, as well as spicy and balsamic notes harmoniously integrated with excellent quality wood.
According to the traditional principles of Casa Ferreirinha, the "secret" of Barca Velha lies in the rigorous selection of the best lots vinified from grapes coming from different locations and altitudes of the Douro Superior, with a predominance, since 1980, of vineyards from Quinta da Lead.
In order to preserve its highest quality, this wine was bottled without cold treatment and may form a slight deposit. It must be decanted.
