Quinta das Carvalhas is a property of great beauty and spectacularity, with a predominant position on the slope of the left bank of the Douro River in Pinhão, which extends along the slopes of the right bank of the tributary Rio Torto. The oldest written references about the Quinta date back to 1759. Quinta das Carvalhas Vintage 2011 Port Winemaking: only perfectly ripe grapes are harvested, repeating the operation throughout the harvest period. Once harvested, they are transported to the winery in small boxes, starting the ancient process of foot treading in traditional granite presses, which, due to their shape, allow perfect contact between the must and the skins, allowing greater extraction. Fermentation is interrupted by adding wine brandy, followed by aging in oak vats for a period of 2 years.
Intense purple
Firm, mineral and with great definition. However, it is elegant and rich in soft tannins, with a long and persistent finish.
