O Hexagon, the "top of the range" wine from José Maria da Fonseca, is the culmination of all the work done in the vineyard and in the cellar and the celebration of the "New World" concept developed by winemaker Domingos Soares Franco, who has long wanted to create a great Portuguese wine in the best international style and level. Vinification of Hexagon Tinto: The grapes are crushed in a lagar where they are fermented at a temperature of 27ºC for +/- 6 days. The alcoholic fermentation finishes in oak barrels where the wine remains on fine lees for about 3 months. During this period, bâtonnage is performed at the first racking, and the wine returns to the same barrels. At the end of this stage, which takes the necessary time, another racking is done, followed immediately by bottling, without filtration or stabilization. The wine aged in new French oak half barrels for 8 months.

Dark red with few brownish streaks
Fruity, elegant, full but smooth, some French oak, present but very soft tannins. Long finish where the acidity of the Red Cão is noticeable and soon after that of the Tannat.
Blueberries, violet, black plum, blackberries, hints of truffle, oak wood (as a support), harmonious, elegant, vibrant, and balanced.
