Description
Sweet orange and lemon on the nose, bright and vivid. Almost crystallized. Hint of resin and spruce in the finish, a little wood. The palate has many notes immediately recognizable as Herno gin. The flavor is a little sharp, a little citrusy, hints of berries and buttery cinnamon. The mid-palate is where Hernö Juniper Cask Gin's aging notes begin to take shape, taking on an almost unexpected form: fresh sawdust, smell of fresh wood from the hardware store, a little woody, becoming resinous and pine with a little of burnt wood and cigar. A very interesting character, very different from most aged gins. The finish is long, with more notes of resin, pine sap, and sour fruit. Wow, a flavor and quite intoxicating.
