Favaios 1989 is the type of wine that is vinified only in years when the grapes have shown exceptional quality. After careful selection of the best Favaios grapes, they were macerated and fermented as traditionally done in the region. The alcoholic fermentation is very short, and right after the cap rises, most of the must is bled off and brandy is added. A small part of the must, however, continues to ferment and macerate with the skins for a few more days, and only later is this very aromatic must fortified with brandy. The first and second fortified musts are then mixed and stored in very old wooden barrels, aging slowly and enhancing its bouquet over decades. LIMITED EDITION

On the palate, the wine shows the typical sweetness of Moscatel de Favaios very well balanced by the characteristic acidity of the plateau.
It presents characteristic aromas of the grape variety such as orange and tangerine. It is also strongly marked by aromas of honey, raisins, dried figs, and caramel, which give it great complexity.
