José Maria da Fonseca is the oldest, most esteemed, and most traditional producer of Setúbal Muscats. This João Pires Setúbal Muscatel 10 Years is a fortified wine with a Designation of Origin, with the youngest wine in this batch being at least 10 years old. It has a deep golden hue and an aroma of orange peel, apricot, walnuts, honey, and fennel. Vinification: Fermentation is halted by adding neutral brandy, and the wine remains in skin contact for 5 months. After this period, the free-run juice is drawn off and later blended with pressed wine. This 10-year batch ages between 10 to 15 years in used wooden vats or barrels. It should be enjoyed moderately as an aperitif at 10ºC or alongside dessert at 16ºC.
