Alvarinho and Palácio da Brejoeira are almost synonymous. It is the producer with the most history and tradition in the production of wines from this grape variety, almost to the point of saying that it was because of it that the white Alvarinho wine became known and today holds the status it has. The Quinta da Brejoeira is located in Monção and is a property with 30 hectares, of which 18 are vineyards exclusively planted with Alvarinho. The emblem of the estate and the region is its palace, a grand construction in neoclassical style, from the late 19th century (1806). D. Hermínia Paes presided over the destiny of this magnificent property and was the great architect of its success. Vinification of the Aguardente Velha Palácio da Brejoeira: obtained from the distillation of the quality Alvarinho grape, it is aged in French oak barrels, remaining at a constant temperature in the old cellar of the Palácio da Brejoeira, aging between 10 to 12 years.
