A Vinha do Lado owes its name to the fact that it is located in a small vineyard plot next to the Adega Vila Santa in Estremoz. This is a 1.5ha plot of Tinta Caiada, planted on a south-facing slope with schistous soil. The harvest is done manually in 15 kg boxes. The grapes are destemmed and carefully selected on the manual sorting table. After crushing, they are trodden in marble lagares with the traditional foot treading. Transferred to a stainless steel tank where alcoholic fermentation finishes. This is followed by 12 days of post-fermentation maceration. They are then aged in 300-liter half-barrels of 1st and 2nd year French and Hungarian oak for a period of 12 months.
