Incógnito was born from the innovative and restless spirit of Carrie and Hans Jorgensen. In Cortes de Cima, plot 9C is the first Syrah vineyard planted in Alentejo. When in 1991 Hans Jorgensen planted the vines with grafts coming directly from the Rhône, in an area of limestone land on top of a hill, he had no idea that the vineyard would produce a wine that would mark the region and the wines of the Alentejo. This wine was produced exclusively from the Syrah grape variety. The grapes were rigorously selected so they were in an excellent state of ripeness. They were fermented without stems, at controlled temperatures, and regular delestage, with an extended period of maceration of the skins to improve the fruit aroma and achieve a good balance and tannin structure. Aged for 8 months in French oak (90%) and American oak (10%) barrels until bottling.
