Château Calon Ségur 2018, a Troisième Cru Classé from Saint‑Estèphe, displays a remarkable balance between structure and elegance. Made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, it was aged for 20 months in new barrels. It presents an intense bouquet of cassis, baked cherries, spices (such as licorice, cardamom, and herbs), camphor, and floral notes such as rose or violet. On the palate, it reveals full body, fine and well-integrated tannins, a velvety texture, and persistent freshness, finishing long and vibrant. It received scores ranging from 97 to 99 points from critics such as Jeb Dunnuck, James Suckling, Antonio Galloni, and others.
