Blandy’s Harvest Malmsey (Malvasia) 2017Vinificação: A procura do equilíbrio exacto entre concentração e frescura são uma arte que requer enorme conhecimento, perícia, experiência, e grande destreza. Este equilíbrio resulta das escolhas de enologia feitas ao longo do processo de maturação, em que o vinho, que envelhece em velhos cascos de carvalho à temperatura ambiente, é trasfegado dos armazéns mais quentes, virados a sul, para os armazéns mais frescos, no lado norte. O Blandy’s Harvest é envelhecido em cascos de carvalho americano segundo o processo tradicional de ‘Canteiro’. Isto inclui um delicado aquecimento do vinho no sótão dos armazéns no Funchal. Ao longo dos anos o vinho vai sendo transferido dos pisos superiores aos pisos intermédios, e eventualmente para o piso ao nível do chão onde é mais fresco. Após o envelhecimento em sistema de canteiro, o vinho é filtrado e clarificado antes de ser engarrafado.

No palato é doce, macio e cheio, com um excelente equilíbrio entre a acidez natural e a doçura, persistente no final de boca, deixa notas de mel, brioche com especiaria.
No nariz é característico com bouquet rico a frutos secos e cristalizados, notas de chá, floral, notas amadeiradas com especiarias doces do tipo baunilha.
