The year 2022 shows the great aromatic opulence and the voluptuous character of ripe black fruit, which are the hallmarks of the Guimaraens vintage style. The Guimaraens Vintage is made in certain years when a classic Fonseca Vintage is not declared. They are sourced from the best components of our properties in the Vale do Pinhão: Cruzeiro and Santo António, and from the emblematic Quinta do Panascal, in the valley of the Távora river. Accessible when young, they are an excellent choice for early drinking, but have the depth and plenty of resilience to age in bottle.

On the palate, these aromas of exuberant wild fruits are enveloped by an aura of wild herbs, star anise, raspberry leaf, cocoa nibs, and a delightful hint of tangerine peel. The silky texture of the wine cloaks the firm and well-integrated tannins that emerge at the finish to provide a very attractive firmness and grip.
"On the nose, an explosion of powerful and intense aromas of wild fruits, rich and juicy with notes of currant, blackberry, and wild strawberries. Notes of apricot emerge as the wine opens in the glass, followed by warmer notes of cedar, spices, dark chocolate, and that opulent fruit character that defines the Fonseca style."
