O nome da quinta provém do rio homónimo, e a propriedade situa-se na confluência deste afluente com o rio Douro. A secção original da vinha situa-se numa encosta virada a poente, detrás da casa da quinta e caracteriza-se por impressionantes socalcos onde estão plantadas as vinhas velhas. A exposição poente concentra a luz solar da tarde e, mesmo após o crepúsculo, os muros de pedra continuam a irradiar calor, o que proporciona vinhos ricos e de grande complexidade. As produções são muito baixas, dando aos vinhos fabulosa concentração e intensidade. Os vinhos da Quinta do Tua são um componente importante dos clássicos Portos Vintage da Graham’s em anos declarados. Com este 2022, é a primeira vez que produzimos um Porto Vintage desta propriedade, exclusivamente a partir das suas vinhas velhas.
