Trotz der Zugehörigkeit zum Douro Superior hat Mêda ihren eigenen Charakter. Region zwischen Dão und Douro, mit Eigenschaften von beiden. Ein Übergangsboden aus Schiefer/Granit in einer Höhenlage, die bis zu 700 m erreichen kann. Mit einem Klima, in dem mehr Regen fällt als im Allgemeinen im Douro Superior und die Temperaturen im Sommer milder und im Winter kälter sind. Klassische Vinifikation. Fermentation in einem Behälter mit anschließender Mazeration von 20 Tagen. Zwei Jahre Reifung in Fässern aus französischer Eiche. Gefolgt von 15 Jahren Lagerung in einem Behälter. Es wurden 7500 Flaschen produziert.
