After an auspicious start with very early bud break, the harvest was interrupted at the end of April by frost that hit the Bordeaux vineyards hard. In Angélus, we were lucky to be blessed by nature and to have been little affected by this dark episode. and we carried out very important selection work in the small affected area. The rest went wonderfully well, with excellent flowering, followed by a very hot June, which gave the vines an excellent yield. The cool but dry summer allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, ensuring the brightness of the fruit. The end of summer was a little humid, but the grapes were ripe and we decided to start harvesting as early as possible, on September 13th! The wines are intense in color and immediately seduce with their dazzling aromas of fruit and purity. On the palate, the tannins are firm and silky, precise and balanced, with a fresh body that brings energy and elegance. 2017 in Angélus is a harvest of harmony and brilliance.
