Famous for its Port Wine since 1751, Ferreira is also dedicated to the selection and aging of high quality wine spirits. It is in our cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia that the spirits are carefully chosen and aged in 270 liter oak casks. In order to obtain maximum quality, tastings are carried out periodically and several batches of different ages and characteristics are introduced. After choosing the final batch, the brandy is placed in 640-liter casks, where it ages. Aguardente Velha Chancella is obtained from selected brandies (liqueur obtained through the distillation of white wines) from high quality batches. It is a natural spirit without additives and aged for a few years in Portuguese oak casks in the Ferreira cellars.
