The year 1999 was one of the most generous for the quality of the Moscatel grape in Favaios. The grapes reached an extraordinary concentration allowing to create this Moscatel full of the grape variety's characteristic aromas. After careful selection of the best Favaios grapes, they were macerated and fermented as they were traditionally in the region. Alcoholic fermentation is very short, and shortly after the mantle rises, most of the must is bled and the brandy is applied. A small part of the must continues to ferment and macerate with the skins for a few more days, and only later does this very aromatically rich must be aged. The first and second fortified musts are then mixed and stored in very old wooden barrels where the wine ages slowly, improving its bouquet over decades. The long years of aging in wood helped to develop and further complex the aromatic profile of the wine. as well as your taste buds. It is a beautiful example of the best Moscatels made on the Favaios plateau. LIMITED EDITION
In terms of flavor, the wine shows the typical sweetness of Moscatel de Favaios, very well balanced by the acidity characteristic of the plateau.
It presents characteristic aromas of the variety such as orange and tangerine. It is also very marked by aromas of honey, raisins, dried figs and caramel that give it great complexity.
