Die Trauben aus den besten Parzellen der Quinta da Mata Fidalga wurden nach einer strengen Produktionskontrolle manuell in kleine Kisten mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 18 kg geerntet. Im Keller wurden sie entrappt und zerkleinert und einer vorfermentativen Kaltmazeration für 72 Stunden unterzogen. Anschließend begann die alkoholische Gärung bei kontrollierten Temperaturen, die 8 Tage dauerte, gefolgt von einer postfermentativen Mazeration für weitere 2 Tage Nach der malolaktischen Gärung reifte es 20 Monate lang in 350-l-Fässern aus französischer Eiche.

Im Mund ist er strukturiert, voluminös und mit guter geschmacklicher Ausgewogenheit, die Tannine sind rund. Die Säure ist sehr moderat und hat eine gute geschmackliche Nachhaltigkeit.
Komplexes Aroma, dominiert von Noten von schwarzen Früchten, Gewürzen, Tabak, Vanille und Kokosnuss, wobei letztere aus dem hervorragenden Holz stammt, in dem er gereift ist.
