Dieser Wein stammt aus der exklusiven Region Quinta dos Pasmados in Azeitão. Im Jahr 1998 wurde die markante Entscheidung getroffen, die Rebsorte Chardonnay durch Viosinho zu ersetzen, wobei auch die Herkunft von Arinto und Esgana von kalkhaltigen Lehmböden auf sandige Böden verlegt wurde. Im Jahr 2005 wurde mit dem Ziel, die Komplexität des Weins zu verbessern, die Rebsorte Viognier integriert, die seit über 40 Jahren in unseren Weinbergen angebaut wird. Um 1999 entdeckte der Önologe Domingos Soares Franco in den Kellern mehrere Flaschen des Pasmados Branco von 1963. Mit einem gelblichen Ton, der seine natürliche Reifung bezeugte, zeigte das Aroma eine Entwicklung, blieb fein, samtig und subtil fruchtig. Am Gaumen zeichnet er sich durch Gefälligkeit und überraschend gute Struktur aus, mit außergewöhnlicher Qualität und bemerkenswerter Säure. Inspiriert von dieser Entdeckung entschied Domingos Soares Franco, die Produktion eines Pasmados mit Alterungspotenzial zu testen, wobei er sich am Jahrgang 1963 orientierte. Von den besten Jahrgängen werden kleine Mengen Flaschen im Keller aufbewahrt, die Jahre später mit der fast vergessenen Bezeichnung Garrafeira wieder vermarktet werden. Auch die Klassifikation Garrafeira wird wiederbelebt, so entsteht der Pasmados Garrafeira.#JMF
