Um den Charakter des Terroirs hervorzuheben, stammt dieser Wein aus einem Weinberg namens Vinha Formal. Es liegt an einem kleinen, nach Osten ausgerichteten Hang in Óis do Bairro und ist das Herzstück der Weißweinkarte von Bairrada, wie sie 1866 von António Augusto Aguiar in der „Memória sobre os Processos de Vinificação“ festgelegt wurde. In diesem Weinberg erfolgt die erste Schaumweinernte zwischen Mitte und Ende August, um einen hohen Säuregehalt zu erzielen, der ideal für Schaumwein ist.
