Die Trauben stammen aus den besten Parzellen der Quinta da Mata Fidalga und wurden nach einer strengen Produktionskontrolle von Hand in kleine Kisten mit 18 kg Fassungsvermögen geerntet. Im Weinkeller wurden sie entrappt, zerdrückt und einer kalten Vorfermentationsmazeration für 72 Stunden unterzogen. Anschließend begann die alkoholische Gärung bei kontrollierter Temperatur, die 8 Tage andauerte, gefolgt von einer Nachgärungsmazeration von weiteren 2 Tagen. Nach der malolaktischen Gärung reifte der Wein 20 Monate in 350-Liter-Fässern aus französischer Eiche.

Im Mund ist er strukturiert, voluminös und mit gutem geschmacklichem Gleichgewicht, die Tannine sind rund. Die Säure ist sehr moderat und er hat eine gute geschmackliche Persistenz.
Komplexes Aroma, dominiert von Noten schwarzer Früchte, Gewürzen, Tabak, Vanille und Kokos, letztere stammen vom ausgezeichneten Holz, in dem er gereift ist.
