Gelegen in São João da Pesqueira, einer der bekanntesten Weinbaugebiete des Douro, hat sich die Quinta de Cidrô zu einem Modell für Weinbau-Experimente in der gesamten Region entwickelt. Auf unberührtem Land wurde Spitzentechnologie eingesetzt, um die besten Rebsorten auf einer Fläche von über 150 ha zu pflanzen. Weinbereitung des Quinta de Cidrô Chardonnay Weißweins: 80 % des Weins gären in französischen Eichenfässern, die restlichen 20 % des Weins werden in temperaturkontrollierten Edelstahltanks vergoren. Der im Holz vergorene Chardonnay verbleibt weitere 8 Monate in Fässern in Kontakt mit feinen Hefen nach der Batonnage-Methode. Die Endmischung wird so hergestellt, dass das gewünschte Gleichgewicht erreicht wird.
