Berühmt für seinen Portwein seit 1751, widmet sich Ferreira auch der Auswahl und Reifung von hochwertigen Weinbränden. In unseren Kellern in Vila Nova de Gaia werden die Brände sorgfältig ausgewählt und in 270-Liter-Eichenfässern gereift. Um die höchste Qualität zu erzielen, werden regelmäßig Verkostungen durchgeführt und verschiedene Chargen unterschiedlichen Alters und unterschiedlicher Eigenschaften vermischt. Nachdem die endgültige Charge ausgewählt wurde, wird der Brand in 640-Liter-Fässer gefüllt, wo er weiter reift. Der Aguardente Velha Chancella wird aus ausgewählten Bränden (Likör, der durch Destillation von Weißweinen gewonnen wird) aus hochwertigen Chargen hergestellt. Es handelt sich um einen natürlichen Brand ohne Zusatzstoffe, der mehrere Jahre in portugiesischen Eichenfässern in den Kellern von Ferreira gereift ist.
