Vinifizierung des Niepoort White Colheita 2012: Im Jahr 2012 erlebte die Region Douro Niederschlagsmangel. Infolgedessen verzögerte sich der vegetative Zyklus der Rebe im Durchschnitt um 15 Tage im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren. Andererseits brachte der Winter 2012 auch sehr niedrige Temperaturen mit sich, was zu einem homogenen vegetativen Wachstum führte. Die Temperaturen während der Reifezeit waren nicht so warm wie üblich, was ein gutes Gleichgewicht in der Gesamtsäure der Moste schuf. Die Lese fand im September statt und nach sorgfältiger Auswahl am Sortiertisch wurden die zerquetschten Trauben und die Stiele direkt in Granit-Lagares überführt, wo sie vor der Aufspritung gestampft wurden.

Im Mund ist er sehr zart, aber mit Struktur. Die 10 Jahre im Fass integrierten den Branntwein in seine aromatische Komplexität. Die pikante Säure, die die weißen Niepoort Ports charakterisiert, balanciert die Süße aus und endet lang und anhaltend.
Die Nase ist komplex und offenbart Noten von Haselnüssen, Aprikosen, Zitrusfrüchten, Honig und Gewürzen.
