Die Trauben zur Herstellung dieses Weins stammen aus dem Weinberg Carril, einem über 70 Jahre alten, nach Norden ausgerichteten Weinberg, und von alten Reben von etwa 100 Jahren in der Nähe der Quinta de Nápoles. Der Batuta entsteht durch eine sorgfältige Vinifizierung mit langen Maischestandzeiten, aber geringer Extraktion, bei der alle Details sorgfältig berücksichtigt werden, um einen komplexen, feinen und eleganten Wein zu erhalten. Er ist voller Konzentration, typisch für die alten Reben des Douro, aber gleichzeitig frisch und zart.
