Alles begann 1974, als João António Cerdeira ein kleines Weinbaugebiet mit der Rebsorte Alvarinho in Melgaço pflanzte. Dieses Grundstück wurde "Soalheiro" genannt, weil es aufgrund seiner Lage den ganzen Tag über Sonnenlicht erhält. Heute führt die dritte Generation der Familie, die Geschwister Maria João und António Luís, zusammen mit ihrer Mutter, Maria Palmira Cerdeira, das Familienprojekt fort. António Luís hat im Laufe seines Lebens ein tiefes Wissen über die Rebsorte Alvarinho aufgebaut. Maria João übernimmt die Verantwortung für den Weinbau und hat erfolgreich die biologische Produktionsweise in unseren Weinbergen eingeführt.
