Im Jahr 2019 war der Niederschlag nicht nur in den Wintermonaten gering, sondern erstreckte sich über das ganze Jahr. Dennoch hatten der Douro und im Fall von Niepoort die Unterregion Cima Corgo Glück aufgrund zweier ausgleichender Faktoren: Erstens waren die Sommermonate ungewöhnlich kühl und zweitens erwiesen sich die rechtzeitigen Niederschläge am 26. und 27. August sowie etwas sehr begrenzter Regen in der dritten Septemberwoche als unschätzbar wertvoll. Infolgedessen war die Analyse der Moste sehr ausgewogen, mit hohen Säurewerten, die Frische und eine großartige Eleganz verliehen. Im Weinkeller von Vale de Mendiz begann die Lese am 2. September unter günstigen Bedingungen, und die letzten Trauben wurden in der ersten Oktoberwoche angeliefert. Der LBV wird im vierten Jahr abgefüllt und bewahrt die Tradition von Niepoort, die Frische in den Weinen maximal zu betonen.
