Akashi Single Malt 5 Anos Red Wine Cask é um whisky produzido pela destilaria Eigashima - White Oak, localizada no sul do Japão, nas margens do Mar Interior de Seto.Para esta edição limitada, o Chef Blender da Casa selecionou cuidadosamente alguns single malts envelhecidos durante 4 anos e meio em barris de Cognac, transferindo-os depois para barris de vinho tinto francês para uma maturação de 10 meses. Akashi Single Malt 5 Anos Red Wine Cask é engarrafado sem coloração e sem filtragem a frio, com uma graduação alcoólica de 50%.Relativamente desconhecida, a destilaria White Oak faz, no entanto, parte da história do whisky japonês, sendo a primeira destilaria no Japão a obter uma licença de destilação em 1888. Contudo, foi apenas em 1919 que começou a produção descontínua de destilados de malte, e em 1984 foi estabelecida uma instalação totalmente nova dedicada à produção de whisky no local de Eigashima.
