Vale D. Maria stellt seit seiner ersten Abfüllung im Jahr 1996 einzigartige Weine her. Unsere Sicht auf den Douro ist, dass jede Ecke dieser Region aufgrund der Variation der Landschaft, des Klimas und der Rebsorten ihren eigenen Charakter hat. Wir erkennen den Wert des Terroirs auf der Quinta Vale D. Maria für die Produktion von Weinen mit einzigartiger Identität an. Für unsere Portweine haben wir jede Abfüllung stets als etwas Einzigartiges betrachtet. Nach dieser Philosophie suchten wir in alten Kellern im Douro-Tal nach einigen der letzten Fässer zur Reifung sehr alter Jahrgänge. Im Laufe der Zeit hatten wir die Gelegenheit, einige verbliebene Fässer ausgewählter Jahre zu erwerben, die wir sorgfältig als eine unserer wertvollsten Sammlungen aufbewahren. Wir begannen, diese Sammlung mit dem Vale D. Maria Old Tawny Colheita Porto 1969 zu präsentieren. Und jetzt ist es an der Zeit, mit etwas Überraschendem fortzufahren, einem seltenen gereiften Branco Portwein, dem Vale D. Maria Old White Porto Colheita 1940.

In der Nase ist er opulent, mit Zitrusnoten und einem Kern aus Honig, der Eigenschaften von getrockneten und karamellisierten Früchten zeigt.
