Der 2010 Chateau Petrus hat eine tief granatrote Farbe und öffnet sich ein wenig, mit weichen zerkleinerten Steinen, einer gusseisernen Pfanne und einem Hauch duftender Erde, die einem Kern aus Pflaumenkonfitüre, gekochten Blaubeeren, Lakritze und Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte sowie Kekskeksen von Bleistiften weichen. Garrigue und Veilchen. Am Gaumen ist er vollmundig und wunderbar ausbalanciert mit einer festen Linie aus erlesen reifen, feinkörnigen Tanninen und einer fantastischen Frische, die die großzügige Frucht verstärkt. Der Abgang ist sehr lang und sehr, sehr elegant. Sammlern, die das Glück haben, ein paar Flaschen dieses Jahrgangs zu besitzen, wird empfohlen, geduldig zu sein und weitere 7–10 Jahre Zeit zu lassen, um sich zu lockern und herrlich aus dieser felsenfesten Struktur hervorzugehen.
