Gegründet im Jahr 1981 begann Churchill’s seine Tätigkeit mit der Produktion von Portwein. Der Erwerb der Quinta da Gricha im Jahr 1999 gab dem Projekt neuen Schwung und positionierte das Unternehmen als Produzent von Port- und Douro-Weinen. Heute zeichnet es sich durch die exklusive Produktion von Weinen der Premiumkategorie aus. Die Quinta da Gricha liegt am linken Ufer des Douro, zwischen Pinhão und der Mündung des Tua, in der Unterregion Cima Corgo und verfügt über 40 Hektar Weinberge sowie einen Weinkeller mit Granit-Lagares, die auf das Jahr 1852 datiert sind.
