Dieser Wein ist für diesen Jahrgang ein relativ starker Versuch, aber kaum eines von Petrus‘ tiefgreifenden Beispielen. Er zeigt eine dunkle Pflaumenfarbe und eine etwas monolithische, kastenförmige Persönlichkeit mit Noten von Pflaumen, schwarzen Kirschen, Lakritze und einigen Kräutern und feuchter Erde. Mittelkräftig, muskulös und tanninhaltig, aber ohne etwas Charme und Süße, sollte er noch weitere 12–15 Jahre gut reifen und möglicherweise sogar besser sein als meine Bewertung. Leser, die es kaufen, sollten mindestens 4-5 Jahre lang nicht einmal versuchen, eine Flasche zu öffnen.
