Das Quinta dos Bons Ares liegt im Douro Superior, in der Gemeinde Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in einem sehr spezifischen Terroir, wo der granitische Boden und seine Höhe den Trauben eine ungewöhnliche Säure und ein aromatisches Potenzial in dieser Region verleihen. Neben diesen Eigenschaften ist eine weitere Besonderheit dieses Weins die Mischung zwischen der Neuen und der Alten Welt, zwischen den traditionellen Rebsorten (Touriga-Nacional und Touriga-Franca) und den internationalen wie Cabernet Sauvignon sowie zwischen den Granit-Lagares und den Edelstahlrobotern. Das Haus Ramos Pinto hat mit diesem Wein ein Beispiel für innovative Tradition. Ein moderner Klassiker.
