Ferreira ist seit 1751 für seinen Portwein bekannt und widmet sich auch der Auswahl und Reifung hochwertiger Weinspirituosen. In unseren Kellern in Vila Nova de Gaia werden die Spirituosen sorgfältig ausgewählt und in 270-Liter-Eichenfässern gereift. Um eine maximale Qualität zu erreichen, werden regelmäßig Verkostungen durchgeführt und mehrere Chargen unterschiedlichen Alters und unterschiedlicher Eigenschaften eingeführt. Nach Auswahl der endgültigen Charge wird der Brandy in 640-Liter-Fässer gefüllt, wo er reift. Aguardente Velha Chancella wird aus ausgewählten Brandys (Likör, der durch Destillation von Weißweinen gewonnen wird) aus hochwertigen Chargen gewonnen. Es handelt sich um einen Naturbrand ohne Zusatzstoffe, der einige Jahre in portugiesischen Eichenfässern in den Kellern von Ferreira reifte.
