DER WEIN 1872 Quinta da Foz Vinhas Velhas Branco sticht in der langen Geschichte der Quinta da Foz als unsterbliches Datum hervor, das in der Inschrift auf einem Stein an der Fassade des Haupthauses verewigt ist und die Gründung der Quinta markiert. Für diese Edition wurde sorgfältig eine Charge einer limitierten Serie von 600 nummerierten Flaschen vorbereitet. Er stammt aus den besten Parzellen jahrhundertealter Weinberge in Quinta da Foz und ist eine Mischung aus etwa 15 Weißweinen.
Die Farbe ist Citrin, klar mit leichten Strohtönen.
Die Textur im Mund ist präsent mit guter Säure, ausgewogen mit einem geschmeidigen Körper, mit einigen noch lebendigen Tanninen, die sein Potenzial in der Flasche offenbaren. Zart lebendig, mit Frische und Kraft, in einem runden und frischen Abgang.
In der Nase ist er zitronig, mit Noten von reifen weißen Früchten und leichten Blumen- und Zitrusaromen, angereichert mit gerösteten, süßen Aromen mit einer leichten Vanille- und Brotnote, die durch die 12-monatige Reifung in Holzfässern mit Batonnage entsteht.
