Vinha do Lado verdankt seinen Namen der Tatsache, dass es auf einem kleinen Weinberg neben Adega Vila Santa in Estremoz liegt. Dies ist ein 1,5 Hektar großes Grundstück von Tinta Caiada, das an einem Südhang bepflanzt ist und dessen Boden aus Schiefer besteht. Die Ernte erfolgt manuell in 15-kg-Kisten. Die Trauben werden entrappt und auf dem manuellen Sortiertisch sorgfältig ausgewählt. Nach dem Zerkleinern werden sie mittels traditioneller Fußtritttechnik in Marmorpressen gestampft. In einen Edelstahltank umfüllen, wo die alkoholische Gärung endet. Anschließend folgt eine 12-tägige Mazeration nach der Gärung. Anschließend reifen sie 12 Monate lang in halben 300-Liter-Fässern aus französischer und ungarischer Eiche des ersten und zweiten Jahres.
