Die Aguardente Mosca wurde 1937 als Aguardente Moscatel Bagaceira kreiert und existierte bis Mitte der 80er Jahre. Sie war im Laufe ihrer Geschichte eine der bekanntesten und angesehensten Aguardentes. Mit der Reifung in alten Holzfässern, die zur Alterung des Moscatel verwendet wurden, zielt die Wiederveröffentlichung dieser Aguardente darauf ab, eine alte Tradition von José Maria da Fonseca im Bereich der speziellen Aguardentes wiederzubeleben und zu bewahren. Das Ziel ist es, eine andere Aguardente zu präsentieren und wieder zu einer Referenz zu werden.
