Die Malvasia Preta wurde 2002 in der Quinta das Carvalhas nach Süden gepflanzt. Sie zeichnet sich durch eine kleine, kompakte Traube mit kleinen Beeren und einer dünnen Haut aus, was uns glauben ließ, dass ein feiner, eleganter Wein mit einem ausgeprägten duriense Charakter entstehen würde. Wir hatten recht! Um diese Eigenschaften zu bewahren, fand die Fermentation in kleinen Edelstahltanks mit Hautkontakt statt, gefolgt von einer Reifung von 8 Monaten in gebrauchten französischen Eichenfässern, um den sortentypischen Charakter dieser spektakulären Rebsorte nicht zu überdecken.

Ein Wein mit einer äußerst eleganten Struktur, der erneut durch die Intensität am Gaumen besticht, mit feinen Tanninen und einem langen, sehr anhaltenden Abgang.
In der Nase heben sich Noten von schwarzen Früchten und Zitrusfrüchten hervor, komplexiert mit würzigen Nuancen, in einem sehr intensiven und frischen Aromaprofil.
