Quinta de la Rosa Tinto 2020: Es war ein trockenes Jahr, zu heiß für Europa und dasselbe für Portugal. Waldbrände verwüsteten die Landschaft, da alles trocken war. Weinberge, die in geringer Höhe und mit Südausrichtung gepflanzt wurden, litten am meisten darunter, während weiße Weinberge in großer Höhe lagen und nicht betroffen waren. Die Wettervorhersagen deuteten nicht auf Regen hin, das letzte Mal hatte es in der letzten Juniwoche geregnet. Eine Woche später sanken die Temperaturen und förderten eine ausgewogenere phenolische Reifung, bessere Aromen und eine größere Geschmackskomplexität. Die alten, hochgelegenen Reben mit nördlicher Ausrichtung erzielten angesichts der Temperaturspanne eine hervorragende Qualität. Der Alkoholgehalt war tendenziell höher und der Säuregehalt niedriger als normal, ohne dass es jedoch deutliche Anzeichen einer Überreife gab. Es war ein Jahr, in dem es möglich war, fast alle Sorten gleichzeitig zur Ernte bereitzuhalten, was zu einer logistischen Herausforderung und einem erhöhten Arbeitsvolumen in beiden Weingütern führte. Erneut war Winzer Jorge Moreira verantwortlich der Beurteilung der idealen Reifung und Festlegung des Schnittzeitpunkts.
