Das Ergebnis der Kombination von reiferen Trauben als gewöhnlich und dem menschlichen Bestreben, das Risiko einzugehen, das man nicht eingehen sollte, ist dieser Wein Colheita Tardia. Er entstand aus der Idee, einen unfortifizierten Süßwein zu kreieren, was im Douro eher unüblich ist, zumal es sich um einen Rotwein handelt! Er wurde Ende November gelesen, aufgrund eines trockenen und sonnigen Herbstes, der es den Trauben ermöglichte, zusätzlichen Zucker zu gewinnen und gleichzeitig einen perfekten Gesundheitszustand zu bewahren. Das Ergebnis war ein süßer Rotwein mit einer hohen Zuckerkonzentration, der nicht vollständig vergoren wurde und im Endwein verblieb. Es ist einer der wenigen, wenn nicht der einzige, süße Rotwein Colheita Tardia aus dem Douro. Die Trauben werden in kleinen Edelstahltanks von Hand gestampft. Anschließend werden sie gepresst und der Most fermentiert in kleinen Edelstahltanks, wobei die Fermentation auf natürliche Weise durch die Kälte des Winters gestoppt wird.

Süßer Mund, mit viel Körper, aber ausgeglichen durch eine erfrischende Säure. Zeigt enorme Intensität von Früchten, wie Sauerkirsche und reife Brombeere. Sehr rein und präzise. Langer und balsamischer Abgang, fast endlos.
