Vinha da Ponte ist eine der ältesten Parzellen der Quinta do Crasto mit Reben, deren Durchschnittsalter über 90 Jahre liegt. Die Kombination aus geringer Produktion aus alten Reben und hochwertigen Trauben ermöglichte es uns im Jahr 2007, einen Wein von außergewöhnlicher Konzentration und Komplexität zu kreieren. Die Trauben wurden in einer einzigen Presse zerkleinert und zur temperaturkontrollierten Gärung in einen oben offenen Edelstahltank überführt. Nach einer Reifung von 20 Monaten in französischen Eichenfässern wurde der Wein Quinta do Castro Vinha da Ponte 2007 im Juni 2009 ohne jegliche Filtration abgefüllt, wodurch es zu Ablagerungen in der Flasche kommen kann.
