Das in Alenquer gelegene Quinta do Monte D Oiro ist seit dem 19. Jahrhundert bekannt. XVII als privilegierter Standort für die Herstellung großer Weine. Das Ziel des Produzenten José Bento dos Santos, einem bekannten Kommunikator und Förderer von Gastronomie und Wein, besteht darin, hochwertige Weine im europäischen Stil zu produzieren und dabei das bestehende Terroir – eine einzigartige Kombination aus Böden und Klima – zu respektieren. Im Weinberg Monte D'Oiro werden die Rebsorten Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Petit Verdot und Viognier gepflanzt, mit denen der Erzeuger einige der renommiertesten Weine Portugals und der Welt hervorgebracht hat.
