Der Quinta dos Murças Margem stammt von Weinbergen am Ufer des Douro-Flusses, wo sich einige der ältesten Parzellen des Weinguts befinden. Durch die niedrige Lage und die überwiegend südliche Sonneneinstrahlung entstehen Trauben mit höherer Konzentration und Reife. Vinifikation des Quinta das Murças Margem Rotweins: Manuelle Lese, Sortiertisch, Entrappung, Quetschen, alkoholische Gärung mit einheimischen Hefen bei kontrollierten Temperaturen (25ºC bis 28ºC) in Granit-Lagares mit Fußstampfen und Pressung in einer alten vertikalen Presse. Reifung in 500-Liter-Fässern aus gebrauchtem französischem Eichenholz für etwa 9 Monate.

Konzentration, zeigt sehr reife Tannine, die zusammen mit der gut eingebundenen Säure ein Gefühl von Volumen, Körper und Frische verleihen. Hat einen sehr langen und anhaltenden Abgang, in dem die Aromen reifer Früchte dominieren, was eine große Langlebigkeit erwarten lässt.
Sehr intensiv und üppig, dominiert von reifen schwarzen Früchten wie Brombeere und Cassis, balsamischen Aromen wie Zistrose und sanften Gewürznoten, die aus der Reifung im gebrauchten Holz stammen.
