Le uve provengono da due vigne del Cima Corgo, una a Covas do Douro e l'altra a Ervedosa do Douro, entrambe con più di 80 anni; la prima piantata a 400m di altitudine, rivolta a Ovest e la seconda piantata a 570m e rivolta a Nord. Le varietà predominanti sono il Rufete, Touriga franca, Tinta carvalha, Malvazia preta, Alicante de Bouchet e il Donzelinho tinto tra le altre. Le due vigne sono state vendemmiate separatamente, con le uve vinificate in balseiros aperti di legno vecchio di vino di Porto recuperato, entrambe con il 60% di raspo. La macerazione totale è stata di 29 giorni, dopo la pressatura il vino, che ha affinato in barriques da 350 litri e 228 litri per il vino di Ervedosa. La fermentazione malolattica si è svolta in barrique, a contatto con le fecce e il suo affinamento totale è stato di 18 mesi.

In bocca è intenso e fresco, con grande profondità, con un'acidità ben presente, mostrando una struttura solida con tannino presente, vivo ed equilibrato. Il finale è lungo e persistente.
Aromi complessi, con note di frutta fresca, bacche di bosco e aghi di pino, leggera nota di fumo.
