L'annata 1999 è stata una delle più generose per la qualità dell'uva Moscatel a Favaios. Le uve hanno raggiunto una concentrazione straordinaria consentendo di creare questo Moscatel ricco degli aromi caratteristici del vitigno. Dopo un'attenta selezione delle migliori uve Favaios, sono state macerate e fermentate come tradizionalmente nella regione. La fermentazione alcolica è molto breve, e subito dopo la risalita del mantello, la maggior parte del mosto viene dissanguato e viene applicata l'acquavite. Una piccola parte del mosto continua a fermentare e macerare con le bucce ancora per qualche giorno, e solo successivamente questo mosto, molto ricco aromaticamente, viene invecchiato. I primi e i secondi mosti fortificati vengono poi miscelati e conservati in botti di legno molto antiche dove il vino matura lentamente, migliorando nel corso dei decenni il suo bouquet. I lunghi anni di affinamento in legno hanno contribuito a sviluppare e complessare ulteriormente anche il profilo aromatico del vino come le tue papille gustative. In termini di sapore, il vino mostra la dolcezza tipica del Moscatel de Favaios, molto ben bilanciata dall'acidità caratteristica dell'altopiano.
Presenta aromi caratteristici della varietà come l'arancia e il mandarino. È inoltre molto marcato da aromi di miele, uva passa, fichi secchi e caramello che gli conferiscono grande complessità.
