Moscatel Favaios 1980 è il tipo di vino che viene prodotto solo nelle annate in cui le uve dimostrano una qualità eccezionale. Dopo un'attenta selezione delle migliori uve Favaios, queste sono state macerate e fermentate come tradizionalmente nella regione. La fermentazione alcolica è molto breve e, subito dopo la risalita del mantello, gran parte del mosto viene dissanguato e viene applicata l'acquavite. Una piccola parte del mosto, però, continua a fermentare e macerare con le bucce ancora per qualche giorno e solo successivamente questo mosto, molto ricco aromaticamente, viene invecchiato. Il primo ed il secondo mosto vengono poi miscelati e conservati in antichissime botti di legno e poi invecchiati lentamente, migliorandone il bouquet nel corso di decenni.
Il sapore è voluminoso ma delicato, con la dolcezza ben bilanciata dall'acidità, fresco ed elegante.
